In               his               historic               run               to               the               White               House,               President               (as               of               20               January               2009)               Barack               Obama               made               a               record               510               campaign               promises.

Neither               President               George               W.

Bush               nor               President               Bill               Clinton               exceeded               300               pre-office               promises               before               each               of               their               eight               years               in               office.

Political               website,               Politifact.com,               provides               a               near               real-time               tracking               mechanism               for               all               of               the               campaign               promises               that               Obama               has               made               as               well               as               an               independent               assessment               on               if               the               promise               has               been               kept,               compromised,               broken,               stalled,               'in               the               works',               or               kept.

On               the               eve               of               his               inauguration,               Obama's               promise               record               is:               2               promises               kept               (Requiring               additional               information               for               reporting               capital               gains               taxes,               and               appointing               one               Republican               to               his               cabinent),               1               Stalled               (Create               a               $3,000               tax               credit               for               companies               that               add               jobs),               10               are               in               the               works,               and               497               are               left               to               work               on.
